Bill Nash is the perfect con man and master strategist. He claims the longevity of his exclusive gel coat to be 15-years, 25-years and 30-years. I wish he would make up his mind to the actual longevity for the years it will last. Listed below in bold print are the advantages and benefits he claims that his product has.

It doesn’t seem to me the benefits he has listed in bold print in his article have any value what so ever. Please note he makes no mention of blistering, flaking or chalking the main reasons of all pool failures.

Who is he trying to kid?
He knows that the average person normally never reads the small fine print. He mentions in small print that his gel coat will not chalk. That is a proven lie. All gel coats are porous. Within 2 to 3 years they start to chalk. In the fine small print he makes no mention of blistering or flaking. Are you starting to realize and believe he is cunning, deceptive and is the perfect con man?

The biggest lie in fine print at the bottom of this page is where he says that this wonderful gel coat has been available for the past 20-years. His claim to fame has been that his gel coat is different and superior from all other gel coats. This special gel coat was formulated by a chemist exclusively for him. Bill Nash would like for you to think that there is a special swimming pool gel coat manufactured for a retro fit on old pools.

If you read the paragraphs below you will understand that there is no such coating as a special swimming pool gel coat, for a retro fit on an old pool.

There are only two types of gel coats manufactured. The more expensive of the two are used on one-piece fiberglass pools and fiberglass spas that are newly constructed. Read the paragraphs below and you will know why these gel coats will last 10 - 20 years. 

This same quality gel coat on a retro fit will start chalking after 2 or 3 years, and fail by flaking within 5 or 6 years.

A Ten-Year Warranty by Uglassit?

If you believe this about his warranty, he probably will try to sell you a bridge.
Before you sign any contracts with any pool contractor you must get a copy of his so called warranties and give it to your attorney. Your attorney will tell you that there are so many loop holes in his warranty that you will have no recourse what so ever, and the main reason for that is that the gel coat is not part of the guarantee.
Mr. Nash you claim you have a 10-year warranty if your product is installed by a certified contractor. Why don’t you have a copy of the warranty on your website.

130,000 Listings No Gelcoat Warranties

I am sure you found out there are over 130,000 listings on the Internet about Fiberglass Gelcoats, and as you noted, no national manufacturer or distributor is willing to offer a quality Gelcoat as a retro fit any swimming pool. Your one-piece fiberglass pool, when first manufactured, had a thick Gelcoat placed on the mold first, and then the fiberglass shell on top of that. By manufacturing a pool in this manner, the Gelcoat could not extrotherminate (overheat) and the life expectancy with this application should be about 10 to 20 years on a newly constructed pool.

A Gelcoat placed on top of a fiberglass shell to be used for a retro fit on  swimming pools, will never be warranted by any large manufacturer such as Rohm and Hass, Shell Petroleum, or Interplastics. The life expectancy for this type of Gelcoat application is no more than 5-6 years. Interplastics, who is the largest manufacturer of Gelcoats in the country, will never recommend one of their Gelcoats for a retrofit on an old pool and certainly would never offer any type of warranty.

Shocking News About Gelcoats.

In January I was at the Pool and Spa show in Atlantic City, NJ. I was in a booth with a manufacturer that had a one piece fiberglass pool on display.
He was offering a life time structural gaurantee on the shell and a 10-year guarantee on his vinyl ester gelcoat finish. The man I spoke with was the chemist of this company. He told me that you could not put a vinyl ester gelcoat on an old fiberglass pool that was manufactured with a polyester, GP or an ISO  resin. He also stated it would fail quickly by blistering and delamination. This is probably one of the reasons that any do-it-yourself fiberglass pool resurfacing companies on the Internet will never offer a guarantee. Consumer beware.

This was shocking news to me. I did not know this.

Now I know one of the major reasons why a national manufacturer of any kind of gelcoat could not offer a warranty on a redo.

Bill Nash do you give this important information to your customers?

You have not responded to the UltraGuard Challenge. It is now obvious you have something to hide when you claim your Shelkote is a unique, exclusive and proprietary. I will soon show laboratory testing proving your Shelkote is nothing more than a boat resin and you are a fraud.

If you would send Sherry Laboratories the coating you use to fiberglass your pools and your so called exclusive gelcoat to show that your claims are true. I will pay all the testing costs.

I will buy from your source North American Composite their vinyl ester resin and gelcoat and send it to Sherry Laboratories for comparative testing

If you don't meet the UltraGuard challenge I will go to the additional expense of buying your product and have it tested.

His Instructional Book Of Lies

I think I would like to mention one more thing to show you how Bill Nash misrepresents. When you buy his instructional book of application that cost $12.95 he tells you its 60 pages of information but in reality its only 30 pages, because every other page is blank. The cost of handling and sending it to you is an additional $13.95 where he is making a greater profit with shipping than the cost of the book. Can you really trust this man?
