"My
pool was old and I raised 2 alligators in it for 5 years (they
are now at my son's property). Last year I paid $12,000 to have
new tile and Diamond Brite. It looks pretty, but it is sooooooooo
much work to keep it looking nice. I run the pump 12 hours a
day and still have to brush the sides every day, vacuum the
bottom, and buy lots of chemicals (the pool store usually has
2 pages of directions each week on adding the chemicals). Because
I swim only on weekends, I feel it isn't worth all my time that
I have to work at it each day.
Someone told me that if I had gotten a fiberglass finish instead
of Diamond Brite that I would use less chemicals and that the
algae could gently be wiped off with a cloth. So, I went online
to check into that and found the information at your site.
I don't want a pool service and if I don't find a solution to
make it easier and more enjoyable, I'm ready to fill it in with
dirt and have a patio. Any suggestions would be appreciated."
